Why Does My Private Jet Need To Be De-iced?
You might have been on board a plane before and noticed that shortly before taxiing your plane being sprayed down either by a de-icing rig. But there is a very important reason for what might seem like something so strange.
The fluid being sprayed on your private jet is actually de-icing or anti icing fluid. Particularly common in snowy areas such as Scandinavia, Moscow and airports serving The Alps, this fluid helps prevent snow and ice building up on your private jet which can have safety implications when airborne.
How much does it cost to de-ice a Private Jet?
The cost of de-icing a private jet charter is based on size of the plane - as you might expect a larger plane will require more de-icing/anti icing fluid therefore costing more. The accumulation of snow and ice can also be a contributing factor to how much fluid will be needed to safely de-ice a private jet. As a guide, it can cost around 750 EUR to de-ice a small private jet and can be as high as 5,000 EUR+ for larger aircraft.
Who pays for Private Jet de-icing?
As the cost of de-icing is not included in the price of a private jet charter, the jet charterer is ultimately responsible for any de-icing costs.
De-icing exists for passenger safety which is dBB Aviation's highest priority. If your private jet charter does need de-icing, dBB Aviation will only ever bill this at the cost price to you.
