UK ETA - Electronic Travel Authorisation on Private Jets
From 2025, anyone traveling to the United Kingdom (via air, land or sea) will need a UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation), regardless of the purpose of their visit. Your must apply for a UK ETA before travelling, unless you are exempt.
What is the UK ETA?
The UK ETA is a new entry requirement for visitors from certain countries, similar to the ESTA for the USA or the ETA for Canada.
When do I need an ETA?
Non-EU Nationals - An ETA will be required to enter the UK from the 8th of January 2025.
EU Nationals - An ETA will be required to enter the UK from 2nd of April 2025.
Who needs an ETA?
EU nationals are able to apply for a UK ETA from 5 March 2025.
Non-EU nationals (including from visa free countries) are able to apply for a UK ETA now.
Passengers with a British or Irish passport, diplomats and those already granted permission to enter or remain in the country, will not need a UK ETA to travel to the UK.
When should I get my ETA?
dBB Aviation reccomend that you apply for an UK ETA in good time and in advance of travel. The application can take approximately 3 working days, so its best to apply as soon as you can.
How long does a UK ETA last?
A UK ETA is valid for two years.
How much does a UK ETA cost?
The application fee for a UK ETA is £10 (approx. 13 USD)
Do my children need a UK ETA?
Every family member needs their own UK ETA, regardless of age.
I have two passports? Do I need two ETAs?
An ETA will be required for each passport. Those with more than one passport must travel with the passport linked to the UK ETA.
