New French Private Jet Tax
Starting on the 1st of March 2025, France will introduce a new tax for passengers departing from French airports on private jets. The new regulation which was introduced as part of France’s 2025 budget and levies different taxes depending on the destinations and aircraft type/size.
Below, we outline everything you need to know about this new tax and how it will be applied to private jet travel from France.
When is the tax charged?
The tax is applied for each departing passenger on a private jet.
How much is the tax?
There are 6 different tax rates which are divided by destination and type of aircraft. The further you fly, the higher the tax and jets are taxed at a higher rate compared to prop planes.
Destination - Europe
Airports within the European Economic Area (EEA) and countries who capital city is less than 1,000km from Paris
Turboprop Business Aircraft - 210 EUR per passenger
Jet Engine Business Aircraft - 420 EUR per passenger
Intermediate Destination
Destinations which are outside of the EEA or are more than 1,000km from Paris
Turboprop Business Aircraft - 675 EUR per passenger
Jet Engine Business Aircraft - 1,015 EUR per passenger
Long Haul Destination
Airports in countries who’s capital city is more than 5,500km from Paris
Turboprop Business Aircraft - 1,025 EUR per passenger
Jet Engine Business Aircraft - 2,100 EUR per passenger
The new requirement applies exclusively to non-scheduled air services, which include private jet charters but not commercial airline services.
How does this affect me?
All quotes for flights departing from France will now naturally be higher in cost than before the tax. We will automatically include the new tax at the required rate depending on the number of passengers travelling. Changes in passenger number, up or down, will have an effect on the price.
